Research and Markets has announced the release of the "wind power profile of Germany (2009)." In the last couple of years,volatility in prices and instability in the supply of energy ,combined with the urgency of climate change have led to the large scale deployment of renewable wind power generator .Among these ,wind is the fastest growing souce with an average annual growth rate of 29% over the last ten years .In 2008,the global wind power generating capacity reached 121 GW.This represents a twelve-fold increase from a decade ago , when world wind-generating capacity stood at just over 10GW.Being an emerging fuel source a decade ago , wind generators has grown rapidly into a mature and booming global industry .Furthermore ,the power generation costs of wind energy have fallen by alomst 50% ,moving closer to the cost of conventional energy sources .The future prospects of the global wind turbne industry are very encouraging and it is estimated to grow at an annual rate of 22% over the next few years to reach 390GW by 2051.
